I came across these vintage Japanese wallpapers a few weeks back. The pale color palette is reminiscent of the pastels and winter whites that are showing up on the runway for many designer’s Fall 2012 collections. It’s definitely nice to carry spring florals into Fall to lighten up those dark sullen moods.
One of the best parts of spring is celebrating hanami in Brooklyn! Despite Japan’s disastrous tsunami, the Brooklyn Botanical Garden continued its annual Sakura Festival at the beginning of May in honor of Japan during this tragedy. Blooming right on time, the blossoms were a breath of fresh air in New York. And in case you’re wondering what hanami is…
Hanami (è±è¦?, lit. “flower viewing”) is the Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the beauty of flowers, “flower” in this case almost always meaning cherry blossoms or ume blossoms.
